I'm the same Dave who patches and compiles raqcop.

As many know, starting with May 25th and subsequent builds of Raqcop, we started using a simple perl program to drive the LCD that was originally created by Bob Fisch from the French IPCop community. The last one Bob made was versioned at 0.8.1. I had been using an updated version by Franck  dubbed 0.9 but doing a diff between the two shows a lot of debugging code and some work on buttons. Trouble is that while it works fine on a Raq/Qube3 and Raq4 except slight load increase over 0.8.1, the raq550 would not display the bandwidth meter. I went back to Bob Fisch's official last version and now the 550 LCD works great and the 3000 series still works great with next to no load.

My 1.4.22cvs builds are using the 0.8.1 version now. I only cleaned up a few typos in it, set it for 2x16 characters, turned off the heartbeat and set eth0 as the default. I will update the readme if you want the heart icon blinking in the lower right where the B in KB is.

If you would like, simply download it and drop it into /sbin overwriting /sbin/lcd

The untouched version is here:
